Nortal's eGovernment business unit is looking for experienced QA Specialists to join the highly successful Unemployment Insurance Fund (Töötukassa) team. We develop and maintain our customer's Web-based information systems that provide labor market services and handle work ability assessments and benefit payments, where your contribution will directly affect the lives of more than a 100,000 people . The work is located in Tartu; traveling elsewhere is not needed. Main responsibilities Above all making sure that the code we ship is stable, conforms to specifications, and meets stakeholder expectations; Testing all aspects of the software including, but not limited to, performance, usability, and compatibility with business requirements; Reporting issues to JIRA in a clear and understandable format, monitoring and updating the issues as needed; Executing regression tests and updating regression test plans; Providing assistance in improving the day-to-day QA processes, procedures, and best practices; Working closely with developers and analysts to support our customer with more complex issues. Essential skills At least 3 years of experience performing Quality Assurance functions (exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered); Having a "Tester's mindset", including a passion for testing, a keen eye for detail, and an analytical mind; Understanding various testing methods and applying them appropriately; Understanding your role in the delivery process and taking responsibility for it; Being proactive -trying, and having the ability, to identify issues before they become critical; Ability to work in and with a team, that is, asking questions, explaining your work, and helping others as needed; Ability to also work independently using your initiative, experience, and best judgment; Fluency in Estonian to understand relatively complex and detailed specifications written in Estonian, and to evaluate work against them; Having at least a passing knowledge of SQL, version control, and Agile development principles.
