In 'Sea of Love' (1989) New York cop Frank Keller (Pacino) must trap a serial killer who is using dating ads to snare his victims. He and a fellow cop place their own ads and start working through suspects. Finally, 'Scent of a Woman' (1992) sees hard-up student Charlie Simms (Chris O'Donnell) doing a job over Thanksgiving weekend to earn some much-needed cash. He must escort blind, embittered ex-army Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade (Pacino) as he indulges in the good life in New York city. Slade plans to eat, drink, make merry and womanise but, unbeknown to Charlie, Slade is also intent on blowing his own brains out at the end of the excursion.
