In Bhutan, 1938, the Chinese are at war with the Japanese. Three men and two women use their prodigious combat skills to stop Japan's General Toga (Tatsuya Matsui) building a poison gas chamber in the City of Kaal. These resistors are joined by whip-wielding Chu King (Michelle Yeoh), and use a combination of martial arts and conventional warfare to repel the Japanese scheme.
