Jennifer Beals stars in this 1980s musical drama directed by Adrian Lyne. Alex Owens (Beals), a welder from Pittsburgh, dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Suffering with kickbacks from the Conservatory of Dance that push her dream further and further away, Alex is forced to work as a cabaret artist in the evenings, struggling against the odds to achieve her goal.
