Japanese fantasy action directed by Kinji Fukasaku. The leader of the failed Shimabara Rebellion, Amakusa Shiro (Kenji Sawada), is put to death, but returns to the world as a demon with the power to resurrect the dead. Swearing revenge upon his enemies, he brings a group of legendary warriors back to life as demons and recruits them to his cause. Determined to stop them, samurai Yagyu Jubei (Sonny Chiba) seeks a sword capable of killing demonic spirits to aid him in his quest. Ken Ogata and Hiroyuki Sanada also star.
